About

Hello, my name is Lucy. I am a qualified Marine Biologist, experienced educator and I love spending time in nature with my two beautiful children and husband.

I grew up in inner city Melbourne but my fondest childhood memories are of family camping trips and the annual summer holiday spent at Merimbula, NSW. As a child I was always the first one in the water and the last one out (often shivering and turning blue). My passion of the marine world sent me to Townsville to study Marine Biology at James Cook University.

After traveling the world and enjoying a 10 year career as a vet nurse, I started a family and wanted to come back to marine world. So we moved our small family to Barwon Heads to be closer to the water, join a small community, and get back in touch with an outdoor life style.

I currently work at the Marine and Freshwater discovery center as an educator officer and a snorkel and stand up paddle board instructor with ecologic. I love engaging with people of all ages and developing a sense of wonder and passion for our oceans.

My qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science, Marine Biology
  • Forest School Leader (certificate 3)
  • Working with Children's Check
  • Snorkel instructor
  • Community Surf Life Saving Certificate
  • Level 2 First Aid and CPR
